Define Your True Wealth: What Is Your Enough?

Money is a topic that occupies a significant place in our lives. It can be the driving force behind many of our decisions and aspirations. Often, we find ourselves dreaming of a life where we have enough money to do what we want, when we want. If you have found yourself daydreaming of what money could afford you, I would like to challenge you to deeply consider what you would do if you had this ideal amount of money? Perhaps the first things that come to mind are material possessions like a bigger house, a fancy car, or luxurious vacations. Or maybe it's investing in education, starting a business, or making charitable donations. Whatever the case may be, money is the tool that provides us with the choices and opportunities that we may not have otherwise.

Consider the idea of wealth, not from a monetary perspective, but rather the freedom and control it can afford you. With more financial resources at our disposal, we have the flexibility to pursue our passions and goals, without worrying about the practicalities of life. What if we want to take a year off to travel around Asia? Having the money to do so would make that possible. Without sufficient funds, our dreams are forcibly put on hold or greatly limited.

Not only is money a tool to increase flexibility and options, but money can also provide us with a greater sense of security. When we have enough money, we don't have to worry about how we'll pay our bills or put food on the table. This can give us the peace of mind we all desire, allowing us to focus on other important aspects of life , such as our relationships, personal growth and fulfillment.

It’s important to recognize that money doesn't guarantee happiness or fulfillment. While it can provide us with choices and opportunities, it's up to us to use it in a way that aligns with our values and goals.

You may be surprised how easy it is to fall into the trap of chasing “more”- more stuff, more things… even if more does not equate to more happiness and fulfillment. After a decade of working with people to help them identify their money goals I have learned that 9 times out of 10, most individuals have no real idea of how much they need in order to pursue happiness and fulfillment. Most people want more, but how much more and for what purpose does not get the time, attention and thought it deserves or needs.

After a little unpacking and thoughtful reflection, many people realize they aren’t on a mission to make more money, but are seaking time-freedom and security– which money does play a role in, but only to a certain degree.

With this perspective, I would like to reiterate my question: how much is “enough money” for you to meaningfully pursue a life of happiness and fulfillment? It’s our belief that the idea of wealth should not be solely about the amount of money we have, but rather the ability to pursue our passion while making a positive impact on the world.. Sometimes the easiest way to have “enough” is to clearly define what enough is for you… it could be less than you think. If you need help getting clear on what’s enough for you, don’t hesitate to reach out. We are truly here to help!
